Welcome to my website. Take a look around; you'll find lots of music, photos and video and my performance calendar.

If you don't already know me, I'm a composer and musician from the Chicago area. I play with several groups and teach music at Columbia College Chicago. Most of the music and video on this site is from my group Doug Lofstrom and the New Quartet, though you will find references to other groups in my calendar, most of which have links on the links page.

Lately I am writing a lot of music for orchestra. Look for orchestral performances in the calendar as well, and excerpts of some of my orchestral works on the music page, including a recording and a sample oboe part from my recent Oboe Concertino. Many of the events referred to have links to the appropriate website. I hope you will take the time to look around and enjoy yourself.
